Power Living Missions, Inc. together with Urban Farmer will implement a community garden in Independence Heights at the corner of E. 32nd and Airline.  Power Living Missions is a recipient of the City of Houston’s Love Your Block award.  This grant gives us the opportunity to transform this unsightly corner into a beautiful green space.   Volunteers are needed to complete three phases.  We need about 35 volunteers for Phase I that would assist with the clean-up of a lot size 70 x 70.  This will involve removal of small tree brush, trash removal, grass cutting, and soil loosening.  We need 100 volunteers for Phase II.  These volunteers are needed to help touch every family in the area announcing the coming garden and inviting their participation.  We need about 50 volunteers for Phase III that can help build 4 - 5x20 raised garden beds, till soil for 4-5 40 feet rows, and plant seeds, fruit trees, and flowers around the perimeter of the garden.  Please indicate what phase and how many hours you will be available to volunteer.

Lunch will be provided for all phases.
